I have a Dell 2005FPW widescreen monitor, but I am unable to run it in its native 1680 x 1050 resolution. I'm using all the standard Nvidia drivers that came with vista ... my gfx card is a 6600GT.
It's odd because many websites mention how great it is in this res, but I'm unable to select it. Perhaps a registry hack is required?
Has anyone succesfully run Vista at 1680 x 1050?
Thanks, Jack

Vista 5270 - 1680 x 1050 screen res?
I'm happy on 1024x768 ;o)

Thats not enough to get me to give up on this! :)
No doubt by the time I figure it out, the next CTP & nvidia drivers will be out...

I would contact nVidia on this or wait a supported driver since its still early in the beta. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "Jack U" wrote in message

Yep, it's running fine on my machine (a clevo D900K based machine) with a GeForce 7800 in 1680x1050 Looks nice, now if I could just get the LDDM drivers to load. I couldn't get any of the video stuff to work in 64bit mode and I loaded the drivers supplied by the machines manufacturer rather than the MS one (which didn't recognise the card) in 32bit Vista, at least it's nice not to watch the screen repaint every time I move a window.

My Ferrari 4005 laptop runs Vista 5270 in its' native 1680 x 1050 no problem. But that uses a ATI Radeon X300 adapter, rather than nVidia.
Is the monitor identified correctly, or as a generic PnP monitor?
Have you been able to drive the monitor at 1680x1050 with that card under a different OS?

I believe www.nvidia.com has the Vista Beta drivers for your card - LDDM drivers.
Just download and install and you should find 1680 x 1050.
